More images to share

Thank heaven the tide was lower this morning -- my barometer must be broken, because it said things should have been WORSE today. Not that I'm complaining!

Ghislaine Tulou sent some lovely images taken from her deck yesterday, and these at the top were taken on my way out for coffee around 9 today. Enjoy!

Another tide-y day...

Daniella Faget (they bought the Chambers' place) kindly sent us some photos from the south end this morning (there was clearly no way I was going to get down there to photograph without hip waders!) As you can see, things weren't much better at their end... Those first two photos are mine, and from the north end, of course.

Bearly Afloat

Barometric pressure was really low this morning, so we had a particularly high tide. Of course I had to go out with my camera! Several other neighbors came round to check out the water levels at the Lees (the Coles old place). The Tulous drove up, and Mark Scott brought Dick Harrison by.

All the commotion in his driveway brought out Steen, who remarked that the flooding reminded him of that great Winnie the Pooh story about riding in his umbrella in a flood.

So of course we had to re-enact it: Steen served as photographer's assistant, Jerry kindly loaned us his pole so we could place the bear without getting in too deep. Here are some of the other results of our labors, and one Ghislaine Tulou just sent me of me and my camera up to the boot tops in water. (note: these pictures were taken about an hour after the tide peaked).
